Reading For Meaning, Intermediate Level
Reading for meaning involves finding and understanding information given in a text. It is the most fundamental skill for 11 Plus comprehension.
Although reading for meaning may sound simple, it can be quite difficult:
- Sometimes it is hard to find the right information.
- Sometimes you need bring together information from different places in the text.
- Sometimes an idea is expressed in complex language.
- Sometimes you have to choose between very similar answers.
- Sometimes an idea only makes sense once you understand the ideas before and after it.
